I’m an “Actor”

by clicktoenlarge November 22, 2014 in Media, My Two Cents 0 comments tags: acting, actor, art, award, duel, mytwocents, nickduel, nickduel.com, show, youtube
Believe it or not I have broken into the Hollywood industry! This is my debut in the movie “Chicago Overcoat” which I know is currently playing on Netflix. Hanging out with the stars like Matthew McConaughey and Leonardo DiCaprio is just a regular thing us actor people do.

Butterflies In My Head Speed Edit

This was inspired by the always awesome art piece, “Butterflies In The Attic” I always thought it was a neat and creative concept so I put my Canon 6D on a timer, took a shot and made the edit. I made the butterflies in 3D Studio max and rendered them out with VRAY. Those little speckles I brought in are all tiny butterflies rendered off of 3DS Max’s particle array system. There’s at least four thousand of those little guys in this piece.  All original, all good! Click on the image below for the full size.

Easy Fire Tutorial

Adding fire to your subject is pretty simple.  I did this in roughly 10 minutes but you can make something really special if you take your time.  You’re basically copy and pasting fire images and using the blend mode, “Lighten”.  I added some splatter here and there to help the effect.  This should be enough to get you started, good luck!

“Your Choice” Minimalism

I really enjoy making minimalist pieces, they take more time than you think.  The concept for this is very simple; do you choose to be happy or do you choose to be unhappy.  The choice is ultimately yours to face.

Atlas the Titan

by clicktoenlarge December 08, 2013 in Media, Traditional Art 0 comments tags: art, atlas, canvas, duel, nick, nickduel, painting, popart
When the Titans lost the war against the Olympians, as punishment Zeus had Atlas go to the edge of earth and hold up Uranus(I know…its a funny planet name)  So in this piece I have Atals doing just that though I added chains.  Why chains?  I thought it looked cool 🙂
